Nurses Needed!

We are currently in the process of hiring Health Care Managers for the 2008 camp season. The HCM must be a registered nurse. Job duties are to dispense medicine, maintain health office hours, oversee general camper and staff wellbeing, and to give oversight in case of any health emergency. Health Care Managers may serve on a volunteer or paid basis and we can also exchange a week of duty for one free week of camp. Policy for Adult Service Groups
Effective January 2008

Asbury Hills has been blessed with many Service Groups in the past and hope to continue this strong tradition.  In order to best welcome groups and serve the needs of camp, the policy below will guide these groups.  The small fee per person will allow Asbury Hills to cover the actual cost of welcoming a service group, therefore a group’s volunteering isn’t a burden on the camp or the group’s budget.

Service groups will be scheduled the 2 nd Saturday of each month (exclusive of June-August).  Details include:

  1. Rice Lodge or the summer cabins are available for lodging Friday before the work day on Saturday (2nd Saturday of each month, January - May, September - December)
  2. A typical work day is 8 hours on Saturday
  3. Fee will be $20 per person, including overnight and 3 meals on Saturday
  4. All groups must register through the central office
  5. Groups can choose from projects listed by the Asbury Hills staff.  Projects will be in two categories:
    • Projects that need funding (in which case the group will need to provide the funding if it is not already in the AH budget)
    • Projects that do not require funding (clearing trails, deep cleaning, etc)

Day work groups will be welcomed as well on the 2nd Saturday of each month, January - May, September - December to help with projects.  Details include:

  1. If we are serving meals, we will provide meals for the volunteers.  A $5 per person per meal donation is requested to cover our expenses.  If we are not serving meals, the group will need to bring a bag lunch.
The Leadership Team will work to create 1-2 Youth Service Week-ends throughout the year to serve youth groups who wish to be in service to the camp.  These will be low cost events led by camp staff with programming as part of the event (worship, group building, etc).  Youth groups will be responsible for custody and care of their group.
